Maurizio Turoni's Biografy
Maurizio Turoni (born in Rome ) has acted as Software Engeneers at Rainbow CGI since september 2011 as software engineer.
For 7 years, he worked as Technical Director at Maga Animation Studio since 2002, dealing with projects in CGI, software development systems and new technologies. This includes the implementation of specific new tools for stereoscopic 3D productions .
He did military service with the rank of officer in the transmission arm.
After receiving his Telecommunications diploma in 1983, he became interested in information technology and began programming in BASIC with the Commodore64.
For 13 years, he worked with an important telecommunications company with a role in supervising the testing of PDH and SDH technology.
In 1999 he moved to Milan to take over a managerial role, which he left in 2001 in search of new stimulus and new technological horizons.
Since 2002, at Maga Animation Studio he has worked on the studio’s CGI projects, also dealing with lighting and rendering as well as various aspects connected to the implementation of scripts and specialized tools for Maya.
In 2005 for the animated series "I cosi". Designed by Bruno Bozzetto. Implement a series of tools that allow animators to create and use a database of actions for each character.
For the 2006 and 2008 editions of Bergamo Scienza(www.bergamoscienze.it), for which Maga Animation Studio was asked to create and manage an interactive exhibit and workshop, he implemented a CGI character animation system that uses dials on dedicated hardware . This tool allows everyone, both children and adults, to create animation, which includes facilitated Key Frame Animation techniques used in digitally animated movies.
In 2007, during the production of the Acqua in Bocca [Water and Bubbles] series created by Guido Manuli and Elena Mora, co-produced by Maga Animation Studio and RAI Fiction, he worked on the integration and dialogue between the animation-rendering and compositing software, allowing for a reduction in production time and human error. That same year, during the pre-production phases of the studio’s new projects, using AJAX multi-platform technologies, he created, on a Linux platform, software for managing production flow (Maga Manager™) that can be used on any browser.
He is currently working on the implementation of tools connected to the creation of all Maga Animation Studio Studio’s 3D stereo productions, including tools and systems designed to convert mono contents into stereoscopic (3D) contents.
